4 – We’ve received a top rating, 4 stars, from Charity Navigator for 11 years running.
We recognize how important it is to know your hard-earned money is being put to good use and we take that responsibility very seriously. Our long-running Charity Navigator 4-star rating puts us in the top 1% of charities in terms of fiscal health, accountability, and transparency. We are also ECFA accredited, meaning we comply with their high standards of financial accountability, transparency, fundraising, and board governance. When you give to a VisionTrust program or decide to sponsor a child you can rest easy knowing your money is making a big difference in lives of children and communities around the world.
3 – We have a college movement called Latte Losers.
We know college students (and high schoolers) may not be able to afford $40 a month to sponsor a child, but still want to make a difference. Enter Latte Losers, a movement of college students who are passionate about changing the lives of children all over the world. By giving $5 a month these students (or anyone!) can feed a child for a month in some of the countries VisionTrust serves. One latte lost, one life radically changed! Latte Losers has college students on campuses across the country that throw events to raise money and awareness for the children VisionTrust serves. Learn more and get involved here.
2 – As of 2015 we’re working in 17 different countries.
Our most recent country addition is Nepal. We began working in the country just weeks before the April 2015 earthquake. Since then we’ve started six Learning Centers in two of the areas hardest hit by the earthquake. Often the children at these programs go home and share the Gospel with their parents. This has helped influence two new church plants and increased church attendance in the community. Since May 2015 twenty people have been baptized, praise God!
In addition to the regular Learning Center program, several special projects have been initiated in response to the earthquake. We’ve distributed earthquake relief kits to over 600+ families and provided assistance with the rebuilding of homes, schools, and churches. There has been an orientation training on drug use and HIV/AIDS. In order to help encourage children’s participation in some of our programs, we are also starting an adult literacy class so parents can be more involved. If you want to read more about how our emergency funds raised for the country were used you can do so here. Thank you for your prayers for Nepal.
1 – By 2020 we hope to be equipping 50,000 children to live for God and love others.
We believe that God has His hand on VisionTrust and has been broadening our impact both globally and domestically because we are committed to serving Him first in everything we do, with every decision we make. In response, we believe that God has called VisionTrust to equip 50,000 children to Live for God and Love Others by the year 2020. This is an ambitious goal, a goal that we can accomplish with God’s help. Please join us in praying for the Lord’s will to be done in our ministry as we strive to help more children.
