I’ve heard people say that $5 doesn’t buy much, but you wouldn’t know it from the commercials on TV. At one restaurant you can get two items for $5, at another you can get a foot long sandwich, and a third has items that cost just $1.
Commercials for value menus are hard to find in Haiti; the cost of food across the country has increased to more than double what it was 18 months ago in some regions. As a result, funds from sponsorship are not able to cover food for every child (due to unsponsored children in the program), and many are at risk of going hungry this school year.
That same $5 that can buy 1 lunch at a local fast food restaurant will make a world of difference for one of these children in Haiti and will help us ensure every child at the VisionTrust schools in Haiti have a nutritious lunch every school day.
