Meet one of VisionTrust’s newest advocates, Lori Younker! She is making a difference in the lives of children around the world in a unique way through her website, World So Bright – Writing Stories of Culture.
Ever since Lori was a child, she has been captivated by her international friendships and the teaching of English. These days, as President of the Columbia Writers Guild in her home state of Missouri, she designs educational events for both new and established writers. She also loves expanding her writing skills in creative nonfiction and guides others to do the same.
There’s nothing like a cross-cultural encounter to teach you empathy and to view your own culture through new eyes. World So Bright is a collection of creative nonfiction narratives and essays that seeks to capture those experiences. Whether you are an expatriate, mission worker, immigrant, or host—your exchange with someone different from yourself can be shared with others. – Lori Younker
Lori donates $20 to VisionTrust for every essay or story she receives for her website. Her goal is to collect stories of culture from all over the world to increase people’s understanding and appreciation of the global community in a Christ-honoring way. “It is my heart beat,” declares Lori. “I want to be a culture-changer by the power of Christ in my life.”
So if you’re a traveler who wants to exercise those writing muscles, or if you have a piece of work you’d like the opportunity for people to see—all while supporting VisionTrust—contact Lori (firstname.lastname@example.org) or check out her website today!
Lori is excited to make the world a brighter place by contributing to the work of VisionTrust in her own special way. Do you have a creative or unique idea for how you can help children around the world by advocating for VisionTrust?
