In just two short months our family made it safely from China to Michigan and finally to Colorado Springs.
We’ve spent the past few weeks settling into our new home, meeting neighbors and our co-laborers here at VisionTrust, as well as teachers and school administrators. Lily and John started school this week. It has been a big adjustment from attending school in China to attending school here, so please keep us all in your prayers.
Jenny and I have been so busy lately, that buying school supplies ended up occurring on the eve of the first day of school. During such a hectic time in our lives, what a blessing to be able to go to one store, that is clean and well organized, to buy everything on the shopping list. This is in sharp contrast to life in China where shopping was anything but convenient.
This week I’ve learned of thousands of orphaned children who are returning to school, thanks in large part to the donations of many generous people like you. For children in poverty, the beginning of a new school year is an exciting time because attending school brings hope for a brighter future. However, the cost of providing school supplies is too often out of the reach for the local caregivers.
By giving a Back-to-School Kit for $32, you’re providing the vital resources needed to ensure that these children get off to the right start this year.
If you feel led to give, and I hope that you are, please visit www.visiontrust.org/backtoschool where you can conveniently provide the resources needed.
Thank you for your prays and support of our work.
