This is Samart. He was a student at our Learning Center in Thailand and loves Jesus more than anything.
This week he has been helping our team with varied projects and translating (as well as attempting to teach us Thai). Today at lunch I got to spend time talking with him about his plans to attend a Christian university and study for ministry. Samart is educated, healthy, a good member of his community, a diligent worker and he loves to teach children about Jesus.
His life is a contrast to many who live in villages around him and scrape by each day for survival. At the same time, ornate Buddhist pagodas stand on corners where young and old come make offerings (that they cannot afford) of flowers, money and incense before gold clad statues of dead monks being venerated.
So does VisionTrust make a difference?
To Samart and thousands more around the world I can confidently say we do. And more importantly, I believe Samart and those like him will impact our world for God, and that makes all the difference.
