Edmond Yakanenzi, VisionTrust’s country director for the Central African Republic, was released from his earthly body early on Monday morning, April 15, 2013 and is now present with the Lord (1 Cor. 5). In the last couple of weeks Edmond was admitted to the hospital for a suspected diagnosis of tuberculosis. Edmond had been coordinating our work among 650 orphans in CAR since 2010. He was known for his godly character and calm spirit among the VisionTrust staff in the city of Bangui and Berberati. He would rise at 4:30 am every day to have time with the Lord and to pray for the work that God had given into his hands to care for the orphans in the program. He leaves behind a wife and two children, the youngest being born just last December. Please be in prayer for his family, the staff that worked under him, and all of the 650 orphans who are affected by this heartbreaking event. This leaves a tremendous hole in the work in the CAR, but we believe wholeheartedly that God can bring good out of this. Pray that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding (Phil. 4:7), would be on all who were touched by Edmond’s life.
