I love the Advent season, particularly the Christmas carols. On Sunday while I was pondering the amazing work that the Liberian team is doing to share God’s love I heard my father’s favorite Christmas carol not once, but twice. The first time I reminisced about early wonderful memories. The second time, I was at church praying for Liberia and it struck me….Robert’s team is out there “telling it”!
Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere! I am sure that the carol’s writer never associated the beloved carol with the Ebola crisis, but that is exactly what is happening. God’s message is being told house to house, across the VisionTrust communities in Liberia.
Thanks to our generous partner, David C. Cook, Robert’s team has been equipped with Bible lessons to console, teach, and bring the message of our Savior to many Liberians who have been devastated by months of Ebola. The Liberian team is engaging churches, seeking those in most need in each of our communities, and going out every day door to door to share the tidings of great joy. The words of our Director just keep resounding in my heart, “Our God is bigger than Ebola!”
As you enjoy our celebration of the Son’s birth, consider this less remembered verse:
When I am a seeker, I seek both night and day; I seek the Lord to help me, And He shows me the way: Go, Tell It On The Mountain, Over the hills and everywhere; Go, Tell It On The Mountain that Jesus Christ is born.
We continue to pray that God will be glorified through your gifts, the Liberian team’s efforts and the knowledge that the Son is coming to all of us! Please take a moment and share your gifts to keep the food, supplies and the message moving out to more and more families in Liberia.
