Earlier this year, thanks to an extremely favorable exchange rate, we were able to put funds together to finish vocational training for 21 orphans who had begun their programs before the war. There were 12 women in the sewing program and 9 young men in the carpentry program who waited years to finish their training in micro-enterprise business principles.
At the end of that training, the participants were presented with their Certificates of Completion of the vocational program, and the girls were given brand-new sewing machines, while the men received a set of tools and a small sum to order their first set of supplies.
We are rejoicing in their perseverance and accomplishment today! Pray that as these young people go out on their own, the things that they have learned, both vocationally and spiritually, will serve them well and that they will be great examples of living for God and loving others!
