A few days ago, the Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf shared with U.S. lawmakers that the number of new Ebola cases has dramatically dropped from over 100 new cases a day to only 10. While she was thankful for the world’s support in this extraordinary crisis, she reminded all of us that now we are at the most critical state, when complacency could allow resurgence of the devastating epidemic.
We pray that the number of new cases continues to drop; we know that the Lord is in control. We also pray that our Lord will bring not only a physical healing, but a spirit healing too. Many people have suffered great loss; many people remain without work or resources to support themselves after the devastating impact upon the fragile Liberian economy. Many Liberians are tired, hungry and still in fear that the situation could still deteriorate.
Yet, there is cause for hope among our communities knowing that our Lord is BIGGER than Ebola. Our teams continue to bring a message of hope, a message that brings peace to those who have lost so much, and a message that brings the joy of knowing our Savior is coming.
As your heart delights in the Christmas season, we wanted to share a joyful noise from our children in Liberian. It is a reminder, that the joy of the Lord can overcome all circumstances. Take a minute to hear their voices, to share their joy.
The children we serve still need your help so they can continue to recover and feel the Lord’s presence through your gifts of food, supplies and His Word. If you would like to give you can click here.
