After six months of working at VisionTrust, it’s hard to believe that I get paid to do this work. It’s truly a privilege and blessing.
So, what’s a typical day look like? Well, as soon as I get to work I read the latest news in the fundraising world, learning from others on how to fund our ministry, so that we can reach more kids for Christ. Then I might work on a communication strategy that thanks those who have given a random significant amount–and to learn more about why they gave. I’ll work on tracking our revenue against our goals. Then, I may take a walk by the pond near our office, pausing to pray for our supporters and asking for wisdom for the afternoon. Towards the end of the day, I make calls to our supporters, invite others to our President’s event in October, and will talk with some of my own team members, thanking them or simply catching up. At the end of the day, I walk out into the hallway and check to see who’s still in our small office. As I let the door shut behind me and head to my car, there’s a lightness in my spirit. I think to myself, today I worked to help one more child who desperately needs to know the love of God. And that’s a great feeling.
