Mali’s life changed when she was accepted into the VisionTrust Learning Center program in Huay Malai, Thailand in 2006. Her family was too poor to send her to school and because she lived far away, VisionTrust made arrangements for her to live in the school dormitory. Though very young, Mali had to deal with a lot of challenges in her life. Her father, the only bread winner of the family of 7, was stepped on by elephants and became chronically ill so that he could no longer go to work. Shortly after, her mother passed away.
Praise God, through her involvement with VisionTrust and our local heroes, Mali came to know the love of Christ and accepted Him into her life.
Then last year she was diagnosed with SLE or lupus. Her family left all of her care to VisionTrust. Sammy, VisionTrust’s Country Director in Thailand, and her Learning Center teacher took her to all her hospital visits and VisionTrust has been taking care of her medical bills. While she is still receiving treatment, we’re happy to report she is now stable!
Last December, in the midst of all this hardship, 18-year-old Mali decided to be baptized because she wanted to publicly confess her faith in Jesus. We are strengthened and encouraged by Mali’s story and the work that God is doing in children’s lives around the world. Please join us in continuing to pray for her healing.
