Forrest’s momma had it right when she said, “Life is like a box of chocolates…”, and I had no idea what I was going to get when I accepted an invitation a few years ago from my friend Matt to visit schools in the Dominican Republic. One thing led to another and here I am transitioning to VisionTrust to support education globally. Wow God.
I believe that education is the main lever to lift poor and underserved people out the cycles of poverty that grip them and their communities. At VisionTrust I will apply twenty years of experience in teaching, training, managing, and innovaton to design and support effective education programs that are sustainable by local leaders. Our goal is to develop tomorrow’s leaders.
My wife Diane, also an educator, and I celebrated our 25th anniversary this summer with our three children Tyler, Carly and Micah, by serving orphans in the Dominican Republic. I can’t think of a better way to start my mission at VisionTrust.
