In recent months, both Matt Storer, VisionTrust President, and I had the opportunity to visit Nepal. We have been following God’s lead to this dark nation with a desire to bring His light and do His will. Just weeks ago, God opened the way for us to begin the ministry of reaching the neediest children in Nepal. He also led us in hiring our first VisionTrust Nepal National Director, Buddhi Man Shakya.
Then, the earthquake hit—Nepal’s deadliest natural disaster in more than 80 years. We’ve all seen the devastating images and heartbreaking scenes. UNICEF reported that nearly 1 million Nepalese children urgently need assistance.
We are not entirely sure how the earthquake will affect the starting of our ministry, but we don’t believe in coincidences. We believe God has prepared our involvement in Nepal at this exact point in time so we can respond to the people in their time of crisis.
This disaster has presented us, those living on safer ground, an opportunity to reach out in love—love in action—and we need your help.
Please consider making a donation to help reach 1,000 affected Nepalese families over the next two months. VisionTrust will be partnering with local churches to provide food, clothing, emergency shelter, and housing repairs. For $85, you can be a part of helping a family restore their life.
I am glad to report that Buddhi Man Shakya, his wife and two children are all safe and currently involved in serving others. However, their own home was one of the many buildings that collapsed completely. Would you also consider helping us raise the $7,300 needed to help Buddhi Man rebuild his home?

Let’s pray for the families affected by the earthquake and that we might be used in a profound way to shine Jesus’ light in Nepal. Thank you for loving Buddhi Man Shakya and his family, and for supporting the new ministry that will be helping Nepalese children for years to come.
