The past week at VisionTrust was busier than normal. We not only had normal operations around the world serving children and short term mission teams traveling, we also worked through preparation and response to the Waldo Canyon Fire that has swept through a large area of Colorado Springs.
The VisionTrust office is one of the 1st buildings outside of the fire evacuation area, as a result we took steps to prepare to evacuate (took home special personal items, prepared important ministry papers, etc…) to ensure the ministry could continue in the event of a catastrophe.
Personally, I could not be prouder of the team I work with. Not only did they do their normal ministry jobs, but they prepared for evacuation and many people volunteered at food banks and shelters, helping those who had been evacuated or had lost their homes – this was a huge testimony to the dedication to serve, since several of them were evacuated from their own neighborhoods and their own homes were threatened.
I thank God to be part of what He is doing here.
