I love this picture. I’m going to work for VisionTrust, but in all reality, I’m going to help kids just like this young man from Malawi. Or Sawtoo from Mynmar. Sawtoo graduated from the VisionTrust Learning Center and is now going to college in Pennsylvania. Other kids in Asia are so invested in the program that they are helping in their own village Learning Centers once they graduate. These kids are part of a VisionTrust initiative to help high school kids go to college in their own country, so that the next generation of leaders is developed from within. Considering that you can go to college for $200-$300 a year in Cambodia, for example, it’s a small investment that will significant impact their community.
As for me, I love hearing these stories while I’m raising a support team around me. I’m nearing the half-way mark of my fundraising. Once I raise all my support, I’ll start the role full-time. The reason that VisionTrust operates this way is so that as much support as possible can go to the kids. And if you think about it, a commitment to support me, or any VisionTrust staff member, actually has a multiplier effect to helping many children around the world!
