Last week I had a chance to visit the children at our schools in Haiti.
Since the earthquake in 2010, VisionTrust has been working with local heroes across Haiti to re-establish normalcy for the children there. Education, health and discipleship are of the highest importance in all our projects around the world, and perhaps nowhere as much as in Haiti, with the impact of schools being destroyed or closed after the earthquake, the cholera epidemic and the desperate need for the truth of the Gospel.
But these are not the things that impressed me last week in Haiti. What struck me most were the smiles on the faces of the children every place we are working. Through all the struggles these children have been through they have grown and thrived, and rediscovered the joys of childhood.
