Greetings, friends of VisionTrust’s work in the Central African Republic,
I just got off a phone call with Benoît, VisionTrust’s nurse in Bangui. He was able to visit Edmond, our country director, today at the hospital. Although Benoît was not able to speak to the doctor, the head nurse gave him access to Edmond’s file and they discussed Edmond’s case together. Edmond had been taken out of the CCU and into a regular ward earlier this week, but yesterday he made a turn for the worse and is back in CCU. He is currently not speaking and not responsive. They have inserted a feeding tube and a catheter to try to help. The good news is that Edmond’s AIDS test came back negative! The bad news is that the test of his urine came back that his kidneys are beginning to shut down. He has had treatments in the past for gout, and the medication, it seems, weakened his kidneys, so that’s why they have been effected. Benoît did say that it seems that Edmond is going into a coma. So please pray urgently, that if the Lord wills, He may spare Edmond’s life and bring him back to health.
