On April 30, we stepped out in faith and asked you to join us in providing relief kits to 1,000 families affected by the earthquake in Nepal. Today, we have great news—together we have reached 100% of the goal! We give praise to our Lord and thanks to you.
Because of your quick response, the VisionTrust team on the ground in Nepal has been able to deliver supplies to families in five remote villages. In three of these locations, the relief work is already transitioning to rehabilitation and development efforts: The communities have started to organize and create plans to rebuild and open new VisionTrust Learning Centers for their children.
The people are extremely thankful. No one else was coming to help them in their time of great need, and they want you to know how much they appreciate your love for them. You can catch a glimpse of this gratitude in the short video below from our Country Director of Nepal, Buddhi Man Shakya, speaking from the community of Kuri.
I’d love for you to track with us and this work over the next several months. Simply visit the Nepal page on our blog for the latest updates and progress reports. In addition, as we move into providing long-term development to the children in these communities, we will need people with a desire for deeper involvement to partner with us. If you, your business or your church are interested, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for being a part of VisionTrust,
Matt Storer, President & CEO
